The Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada (ANAVETS) is Canada's oldest veterans' association. ANAVETS Saskatoon Unit #38 was incorporated on December 10, 1920. Our main purpose is to take care of Veterans and their families. Unit #38 gives Veterans a safe place to go and socialize with other Veterans, family and friends. We are also active in Saskatoon and area. Our members participate in a variety of community events and groups including Saskatoon’s Remembrance Day service, the annual Poppy Campaign and we support local Cadets Corps #2293 and #3071. Over the years, Unit #38 has been the host location for a number of dart events including the Main Event and Al Heminger Memorial Dart Tournament. We also host dart leagues on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and Tuesday drop-in darts throughout the year. Pool, shuffleboard and golf leagues are also part of our Unit activities along with monthly cribbage tournaments and the Ladies Auxiliary Bingo. Most Friday and Saturday evenings we have live entertainment, draws and 50/50s. You do not have to be a current or past member of the Canadian Armed Forces to join Unit #38 – anyone can join.
